My Research Interests

While my research interests are along a wide spectrum of issues, I have come to find overlapping themes and intersections that connect different areas.

In general, my interests include:

  • Spirituality

  • Caregiving of individuals with a neurocognitive disorder

  • Grief

  • Geriatrics

  • Death & Dying

  • Substance abuse

  • Trauma

  • LGBT issues,

  • Mindfulness

  • Counselor and supervisor competency

  • Mental wellness

These topics and areas converge to cover gaps such as what I desire to do for my dissertation which is translating directive play interventions for elders with neurocognitive disorders and their caregivers.
