As a scholar-practitioner a part of my role is a writer of many types from academic articles, briefs, essays, progress notes, student correspondence and feedback, and many other aspects of written communication.  During my first Counselor Education Seminar I was tasked with reflecting on my development as writer.

Part of becoming self-aware is allowing ourselves to vulnerable to our "censor" or self-criticisms.  As I practice mindfulness, these thoughts are present; however, I allow them to present and then pass by as I continue on my journey.

Developing into a Counselor Educator is a life-long process and I feel that I am at my second stage, whereas my first stage was becoming a counselor.  I desire to educate future counselors and this is a reflection on my development as a teacher.  I am blessed to have past experience with teaching undergraduate and assisting with graduate courses.  However, I am excited for the future possibilities to teach substance abuse, marriage and family therapy, practicum/internship, lifespan development, and foundations of counseling.  I will not limit myself to those classes, as I am open to teaching any course that I am competent to teach.
